Tonight I pulled the plug off the bottom of the recoil housing and drained out the oil, it seemed pretty watery.

That brings me to another question. Why is there even a drain plug there? Is it there just in case of a water crossing and it gets water in there?

I just talked with the service manager at the local dealer

He says there is a gasket and a o-ring in there that could be leaking.

$40 for parts including oil to refill or $160 total if he does it.

Not sure which way I am leaning yet.

That's what I'm leaning towards right now

I need to pick up some more Torx bits to remove the floorboard and then I'll start tearing it apart.

does anyone know what the thread/pitch is in the 3 bolts in the flywheel?

I need to pick up some bolts today so I can use my puller and get the flywheel off.

I have changed both seals and changed the oil and filter.

I'm ready to go riding and see if it's all better now.

He hasn't posted anywhere on the forum in 8 years and may not be here any longer. Sometimes a lurker can surprise you but most of the time if they go that many years without posting they're gone for good.
