rr,

Sorry to hear about your winch... seems to be the norm. Hope it's under warranty.

What I don't understand is........
Why does Polaris keep selling them when they know their junk?
If they know their junk, why do they have the Polaris name on them?

Just seems like bad business to me!

What happened to it? Looks brand new yet.

I personally know a few people who went from a Warn to a Polaris winch.

For being Polaris owners, there sure are enough people here ready to bash them any chance they get.

Here are the problems I had with my PureChinesebuiltJunkPolaris Winch.(2500lb)

-Would power in but would not power out. (plow stuck in UP position!)

-Would power down but not power in.(plow stuck down!)

-Would power in but not hold and would release. (would raise plow and would spool right out)

The above happened on winch #1, #2, #3. Thank God I have a good dealer to work with that covered them under warranty. These Popo winches were BRAND NEW and the timeframe was about 12 weeks.

Dealer refunded my $$ towards the purchase of my Warn RT30. (regular grade 3,000lb)

No problems now.

If that Polaris dealer gave me the ring-around and the next closest dealer did to, Polaris would have lost me as a customer for a long time or maybe forever.

Exactly! I don't understand it either. I guess they must make a lot of money on them, as half of them probably come back for warranty work/replacement, so the other half must bring in a lot of profit. Either that, or that have "idiots" that figure the bottom line. LOL

The "bad" rep that it creates continues to cause a lot of people to associate "Junk" with "Polaris". No way to put a dollar value on that... something that "accountants" don't understand.
