i got a 97 spotry500 and the muffler was rusted out in the back around the circle i would say...well everytime we ride my muffler would b bummpin up against my buddies front bumber when we would haul them....so everytime i drop in the lake or pond.."i'm snorkled out" the hole would fill up with water killing the motor...so i got this big idea to take it to the muffler shop and had them run a piece of 2" out and up...like a snorkled exhaust...but i left my stock opening from the muffler open..soooo when i get deep again is it gonna fill back up with water or will the muffler pipe outta the water let it run????

 

if you keep the throttel going steady the engine will run just fine, provided your intake is not overflowing.

ie, your exhaust is pushing water out faster than it can get in. thats why you try and NEVER let your ATV die in deep water or mud

 

hell man i've sunk i mean sunk this thing like 4 or 5 times a before the snorkle.......but seince the hole in the muffler i would get in the water bout 3 foot and it would die not instant but it would die so i tried this contraption.....i'll find out on sat..it will be in the 50's
