Just curious - have you checked the carb bowl too see what sitting in there? What state do you live in? Are you getting 10% ethanol gas?

Lot of information and misinformation on the E10 gas out there. I have heard of people finding a gel type substance in there carb bowl using E10 this winter. Also hearing a lot of people having to run their ice augers at half choke using E10 gas.

With all the info - I don't know if this is a real problem or not. But if you are using E10 gas it might be worth while to remove the bowl and clean. Then drain the gas and try a fresh tank full. Worth a shot I would guess.

One thing to note - if you are using E10 gas DO NOT add HEET. HEET is isopropanol alchohol (which obviously is to absorb water). The E10 gas already has 10% alcohol so adding more alcohol will just add to the issue and could likely cause problems from burning too lean.

Well I worked on it again for a little while. Pulled off one of the gas lines to the carb. Gas trickled out. Drained the carb, gas came out, checked for spark again, have spark. Looked at all the electrical I could see and it looks good. Could it be a fuse somewhere?
I didn't look in the fuse box, if it has one. I am out of ideas.

Atv still not running. called polaris and they said it probably is NOT timing since it is "direct timing"

again, I am getting spark, air, fuel. Pulled off the fly wheel cover and everything looked fine EXEPT, I found bits and pieces of a little spring in there. Where the hell did that come from?

also on the fly wheel there is a plate, should it be shiny? does that make contact with something? I am stumped and we are getting 14" in a couple days, I need my plow!!!!

If you are getting fuel, and spark, and air, then either your plug is not sparking at the right time (timing) or you are not getting compression. Have you checked to verify that you are getting compression? Take out the spark plug, cover the hole that the spark plug came out of with your finger, and turn the engine over. The air pressure should force your finger off of the hole. If it does not, then maybe you have a stuck valve.
