Winch issue
#1
Greetings,
While plowing today my Polaris winch decided that it doesn't always retract when asked to. It does eventually but at times it can take up to 15 times of hitting the button before it engages. I checked the free wheel lever to make sure it wasn't in between the free wheel setting and where it should be and it appears to be fine. It goes out with no issues but will not engage right away to pull back in. Has anyone ever seen this before? Would appreciate any advice on how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.

This has been a big problem with the Polaris and Warn winches, especially the 2500's. No concrete evidence of what causes it or a fix, just alot of complaining is all I have seen.
With the Warns, some of it was as easy as a new switch. Not sure on the Polaris winch. Probably because they have an over the counter warranty and no one finds out the problem.

Does the cylinoid click, or does the winch try to pull it in unsuccessfully
If it's option 2 you probably have another junk Chinese Polaris winch to add to the huge# of them out there</end quote></div>
The cylinoid just clicks.
