Default Track Kit...

So, I ran up on a video of a Polaris ATV with a track kit. It looked pretty cool, but it was hard to tell from the video if it really made much difference in terms of traction in deep snow (about a foot and a half).

Has anyone used a track kit before? I am just wondering because I always keep my eyes open for deals, and if I ran up on a used kit for under $400 bucks I might consider grabbing it if I thought it would make a BIG difference in snow.

Well, the only set I saw that was for sale was Polaris, but the price was out of my range (over 2 grand), but it got me to thinking that if I ran up on a set for 3 or 4 hundred bucks somewhere I might grab it... IF I thought it would be worth the effort to put them on every fall and take them back off every spring. I other words, if they really added a lot of traction for plowing and driving in snowy conditions.

They add alot of traction.
You won't find any under $2K
Would recommend a machine 650 cc minimum.

Yea even Mongrol can tell ya what brands to buy or stay away from.

Talking about track systems though, has anyone seen these ETV TIRE
TRACKS, my beef is that they are expensive but I guess an alternative
to tracks, well maybe? I saw something similar where you add this
rubber type track belt and it carries a second wheel behind sorta like
you see on those SNOW CATS.

OMGosh, in just looking at the site this ETV is like a system mounted over any ATV with the
TRAX system, roll cage, bed, etc. Pretty impressive, I wonder the cost for all of this?

That IS pretty cool. I hate watching that because it makes me think I need "more". Everytime my wheels spin I'll be thinking I should have something like that... even though the reality is that I already have more than I "need".
