Best Tire?
Well I am all set to put new sneakers on my “HO” but I need to here from some off you. I am down to either Mud runners or Titan 589’s. I am also going with 26” tall, don’t want a lift kit. My question is this, what’s up with the ITP wheels? They are only 7” wide front and back? This is what I am told by Rocky Mountain for a big wheel kit and 589’s. My stock Polaris rear rim is 8.5 inches wide! Would I be better off going with Mud runners (26”) and using the stock wheels? I am not a big time mud rider; I just want a little more bite then stock tire and a little more height.
Please let me here from any of you that are running the ITP’s or Mud runners on stock wheels!
Thanks
Mark

are u lookin at the ITP magnums or steel wheels? the mags might be better because there much lighter, and thoes tires u want are heavier than stock ones.
i think both the mudrunners and 589's are great, did u look at the new 589 MT's??
try getting prices from treadepot.com and rims prices from Highlifter.com

stay with the steel wheels not unless you get longer wheel studs first otherwise you might be very unhappy with alum. wheels because the wheel studs are too short, you would be only able to get 2/3 of the nut on the stud.this is with the douglas rims. you with eventually damage the rims or strip the studs.this information is from my own experiences. try to save to money and headaches by telling you all this. MY TWO CENTS!!!if you find longer studs, let us all know . thank

I have a yellow HO w/ 26" mudrunners on it. I love it. The thing you might encounter is rubbing on the front fenders when you hit a bump or land hard on the front end. My dealer gave me two rubber spring spacers for the front end. Hardly ever rubs now. Tires are mounted on the stock rims. They are great in mud or snow.
Just my opinion.

I have 27" Maxxis Mud Bugs on my Sportsman and I love them. They don't handle like I thought they would. I thought the handle bars would shimmy at higher speeds but they don't. I think they are almost as smooth a the stock tires. Maybe it has to do the 2" taller tires? At crawl speed on roads you can feel the lugs a little but not bad.

2000sp500,I hate to be the one to tell you this but your 27" mud bugs are actually 25" mud bugs.My son bought a set for his grizz. The Grizz was setting next to my H.O.with stock 25"s.They looked to be same height so we got a tape measure and level, guess what his 27s were actually 25s.Yes I'm sorry to say my son was pist also.On a positive note you dont lose any power and you got much more rubber on ground.I might buy these tires off my son cause I dont want more height.Did you have any problem with mud bugs rubbing the struts?
