I have a 700 SP that is cutting out around 3000 rpm.Just barely off idle.
I have opened up the air screw 1/2 turn, raised the needle one notch, check both clutches and belt nothing changes. What else can I check?

Just off idle Brad? How is the rest of the range? Play the choke lever game, slowly apply the choke while accelerating. Also you can try it with the air box lid off and filter out to confirm lean/rich issues. ETC?

The rest of the range is great. With the choke out it just reves past the dead stop. The owner has been running with the chock on a little to get it to run right but that fouls plugs.I thought it was a needle valve problem but raising or lowering the needle didnt change anything.I am goingto pull the carb and return all the changes I made to stock and check the needle tube real good.
If that dont fix it he can take it to a shop and pay them to do what I have done.

off the pilot is where the needle takes over.I am going out now to pull the carb again and go through it again.
It seems like it could be electrical but yet still like fuel.
I dont get stumped very often but this has me by the yingyang.

Check the carb boot for cracks. This very common on the twins. Valve lash is not adjustable on 600 and 700.
