Polaris 400 scrambler 2002 4x4
I have the same problem I have a 2002 400 scrambler I've been working on I noticed that the carb has two hoses coming from it but I have no clue where they go and it doesn't seem like the oil is mixing with the gas on it I don't know what to do!

Run separate hoses. Throw away any check valve. Zip tie the vent line(s) to the throttle cable or choke cable and let it terminate over the tank bracket.Run a separate overflow/drain line for the carb bowl and extend it past the bash plate. This set up pictured on the two strokes wasn't necessary and just confused people. If you suspect the oil pump, pull the pump cover and see if it's operating ok. If it's corroded as many have done, block off the injector line at the intake manifold and premix.

This can either be from too much fuel or not enough, float level off, wrong jets, trash still in the carb, etc. Plus check that the tank vent line is not kinked and good fuel flow to the carb and carb vent lines are open. Look over the carb section pdf from the manual on you VM34 carb.It may be something simple that you've done wrong especially in the slide needle assembly that people have assembled wrong before. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...U2gGlaHJWSIlbA Wouldn't hurt to do a compression check to see what condition the top end is in also.
