I don't think that there is enough Strut rod threads at the top to add an additional 1+ of spacer..... so if I add it at the bottom is there enough Strut still held in the tube?

It's sort of hard to explain, but If I remember correctly you are technically just extending the strut, not loosing any of the threads, but however you want to say it, there is plenty of threads to place the 1 1/2" spacer underneath the spring, and on top of the strut housing

you are not effecting the strut at all as (at least w/ my way) it goes under the spring and you simpley compress the spring and you have the same amount of threads to bolt back on. if i remember right i could almost compress the stock spring w/ out my strap as it is that weak. here you can see the spacer under the spring. i guess it's almost time to do it to my 08' 800 as i did to my 06 and maybe i'll take better pics or a video. (but dont wait for me as it might be awhile lol)

I am thinking that in addition to the spring spacer, I'd like to add a spacer for the strut as well because of those that talk about the strut topping out after being lifted.

I am trying to avoid ruining the strut by adding a spacer there too....

IMO I wouldn't be too concerned about that, I have had mine for over a year, and have done plenty of jumping and wheelies, and have no strut leaks or any other problems
