Different gasket for overbore?

I called my local Polaris dealer today to see if he had top end gaskets in stock and he told me that my 400 would use the same stock head and base gaskets even though its being bored .020 over. Now I've never exactly been the sharpest tool in the shed but I don't understand how the gasket size wouldn't change if the cylinder size is being made larger. Can someone tell me how that works or is my dealer fibbing to me?
