I have the 08 700 X2 and love it for the ride I get. I had a 500 sportsman and it was a nice ride but nothing like the X2. My 700 is stock and the ride is smooth even on the wash bored area we ride. IMO it's because of the over 900lb GVW and the extra length. With the X2 you have the option to put the seat up or down and the storage and ability to carry extra stuff is a plus. BUT you will need a wench 3500lb, your not going to be moving this thing with a back issue. Oh i'm
6-1 and 235lbs and have all the room needed for the man gear even with a rider.

I heard that the X2 and Touring are even smoother riding than the regular Sportsman because they have "rolled IRS". The rear suspension is on an angle instead of straight up and down. I haven't ridden one and I hope someone who has them will chime in. The new XPs are supposed to have better rides because they have rolled IRS too.</end quote></div>
I've heard the same thing, but can't verify it.

The X2 and Touring are longer and do have a better ride than the regular length quads. It's kind of like the difference driving a short wheelbase truck and a long wheelbase. Less rocking back and forth. Of course, you give up some breakover angle clearance.
