I have the reverse over ride 2000 sportsman 500 this is the way it should've come from the factory. Works great for plowing or getting unstuck.

The ATV can run all three lights no problem, not sure why Polaris just does not do it themselves.

I had the 3 headlight mod from quadovator for a while, but the diode got REALLY hot and burned out so I'm back to stock. Also have the temp. gauge and reverse/work lights which work fine although the temp gauge bezel has rusted pretty badly in only 2 years.

When the diode burnt out, did it 'default' back to stock?? Or did you have to cut it out??

When the diode melted the top headlight quit working so I had to wire it back up to stock.

Bing43-the reverse override is a legal weanie safety measure. Sucks for experienced riders but is kind of a good idea for novices. I'm just glad it's an easy fix to modify it!

Serious sounding group that pays attention to details. Nothing for the XP series on Quadovator.

They have a link to some nice winch extension ropes.

I had the diode mod but with the rocky trails I ride it eventually failed - I repaired it twice (solder). I switched to the relay method for less than $10 in parts from Kragen. Works great with my HID light conversion, have not had one problem with them and I do quite a few night rides in some of the crappiest conditions. I've also installed it on a couple of friends quads also.

The instructions should be in the thread archive here somewhere. If you can't find them drop me a line.

Is there be a step by step for those of us who are not very good with schematics? Sounds like I may go the relay after all. Wonder how Popo did it on the XP series??
