Rotopax tank mount options
I had originally planned on putting some sort of metal bracket attached to the rear platform on the quad to reinforce the mount on the rack extender, but directly underneath the rack extender where the fuel pack is mounted is not a flat surface. If i looks like the rack extender isn't going to hold up I may have to figure out a way. I also don't know what if anything I am going to install for a cargo box on MrsBMQ's quad. Once a cargo box is installed the whole mount will likely have to be changed anyways.

I am going to have the same challenge ..... are you saying that the bottom piece of the L-bracket won't sit flat on the rear rack and under the rear extender. I need to take a look tonight. My thought was that the bracket would reach under the extender and I could drill and bolt it to the rear rack and brace it up with some metal from the underside of the rear rack if needed. I ordered the L-brackets without knowing if they would work or not thinking that I would modify them if needed and possible. I am undecided on rear cargo boxes at this point. I like the popo contoured rigid which it looks like you may have? But then I think that it is big and bulky and could get in the way so perhaps a soft pack will be fine.

I have a 4gal Kolpin gas pack mounted on the back of the quad. The pick that reno82 has posted is what I had to do to use my lock and ride box. I have had it like that for a couple of years now and the only problem I have had was last fall we did a night ride and took on a tight area, caught a tree on the box poped it off and bent the brackets!

Okay I am still a little unclear, will the L-shape mounts lye flat
like these Kolpin's on the rear rack? The pics are for the Kolpin
mounts right? It looks like it will work if they are similar.
My application is to have two gas tanks (combo/interlockable) on
the rear outside the rack ext. and my L&R rear cargo box.
Also, unless I missed it for this L-shaped mount did you have to
drill through the plastic of the rear rack to fasten the flat part of
the L-shape mount?

there seems to be a difference between the 800 and the 850 rear racks. I have the 850XP - the rear rack in the center is NOT flat. From the pics posted, the 800 may be flat. Also matters whether you are mounting a single 1.5 Kolpin/2.0 Rotopax versus a 3.5 gal Kolpin/4 gal Rotopax - 1 mounting bracket versus 2. Nice mounting jobs on the 800s, BTW
