425 Magnum reverse problem

425 Magnum reverse problem
1998 425 Magnum...Started making a loud clunking growl once you put it in reverse and start backing up. No probem in forward gears. The sound is coming from the transmission. Any ideas would be appreciated.

425 Magnum reverse problem
Either a chain or bearing or both is bad in the tranny.Not a big deal to fix more of a pain to pull it it of the frame.

With a little practice you can get it out redone and back in within 3hrs.I have done this job enoughto get it down to a science

Practice is something i hope I don't get much of. I'm a weekend warrior who rather be driving than working on it. but I think they're directly proportional.
