Default 2008 Sportsman steering stem seams loose?

Mine also wiggles at # 3. Maybe the issues is with the metal that holds the bushings?

There has to be a little play by deisgn..I consider it normal...but I will say it isn't enough that I have never noticed under normal use..
The only way you can tell it "wiggles" if you sit there and try to wiggle it...my 850 does it..nothing to worry about.

Default 2008 Sportsman steering stem seams loose?

I found a fix for the loose steering. The frame plate that the #2 & 3 are connected to may get bent. All you have to do is get a pull jack and tug on the frame plate to get it straight. Once that's done its nice and tight again with the same parts. No wiggle at all.

Maybe the mounting plate is bent. I hit a tree with mine and it bent. I let the bank take mine back it never steered the same after the hit. I would say sell it and let someone else worry about it. once bent they are never the same.

Default steering loose

my 2000 scrambler has the same problem, on mine the number 6 Flangette bolts were loose try checking those i did on mine and it fixed the problem

A pull jack? maybe a slide hammer. It will never be the same, why wouldn't you replace the bent peice. are you cheap?
