I have a 2006 800 Sportsman, went riding over the weekend, noticed that gas was dripping from under the bike and running down onto the front gearbox and front drive shaft, bike would also stop running and would need to sit for about 15 to 20 minutes before if would start again, sometimes when it would start it had no power and would backfire, I am wondering if this might be a fuel pump issue, I could not tell where the gas was coming from.

 

you should hear the pump cycle when you ry to star it. a few 800's did have that exact same issue and was a fuel pump breaking down either getting hot or a broken wire in side the tank.
