Default Lead paint issues with Polaris

All -

Where is the latest status on the freeze on selling quads containing lead paint?
Were these just limited to the kid size quads (50 and 90cc's)?

I heard some friends talk about in some new package Congress is trying to pass with the abandonment of all kids quads, is this true?

Regards,

R'

It was more than just lead paint these chinese quads had lead in the metal used to build them , and also the replacement parts contain lead also ; i the ban was only kids quads under 100 models wasn't for anything from 150cc and up !

But i did read a post a few day's ago from a dealer that they were able to start selling part's for these china built quads , however i was unable the verify this info but the post should still be here if the change made to the forum didn't drop it !...........

I read somewhere that they were going to allow the dealers to go ahead and sell the quads in question.
Something about the economy and the fact that a kid is`nt going to be eating the quad but rather riding it.

Must be some truth in letting them go ahead and sell them. I was at an auction where they sold 50 of them last saturday!! Damn things went for more than MSRP or I'd have bought one.

Wonder how long it will be till you can't take your kids fishing.

Ever use a weight on your line? And a kid can buy those things.

From what I was told it wasn't the paint but the battery. The battery contained lead and the feds were afraid your kid would start gnawing on the sweet, sweet battery terminals or that they'd just bust the thing open and feast on the sweet lead goodness inside.

I don't know that is so much the lead in the paint for the danger to our kids, as it is the chinese engineer that designs these things. They have so much lead in everything over there that they can't even produce a good quality knock off anymore. The engineers are getting exposed to too much lead for such a long period of time, its having an effect on their ability to design products. Heck they can't even make dog food without forgetting to add some kind of toxin to it. When are we going to learn? Baby formula, toys, shrimp, dog food, tools, four wheelers, mushrooms, basically anything from China has something inherently wrong with it. Are we to dumb to realize this? HMMMMM, maybe thats their plan. It's obvious they have figured out that the American Consumer cares only about price. The typical AC would rather send $.75 to china than spend a dollar to keep their neighbor employed. They would not have the money to lend us if we had not sent it all over there to their comunist govt by buying their cheap A$$, sweat shop produced, lead paint containing crap.
