oil problem

I added oil to my predator 500 and went for a short ride I got back and checked oil it rose up to top of oil tank and is suddenly real thin .whats up can anyone tell me. thank you

needle and seat in carb probably bad letting gas into crankcase

Thank you for the input I checked my oil wile engine was cold and put to much oil. should have started it first and shut it off and checked it with in two minutes after ...oops.
