No doubt. It would be nice if Polaris published this info right with the machine at the dealers. Kind of what FORD does with its trucks. If they make changes to the truck during a production run...they will call it Build #1, Build #2, Build #3, etc. That way the consumer is informed of any changes (improvements) to the truck during that build year.

Seems like maybe cost would be associated with no longer offering the nicasil option.

I haven't had the chance to mess with the 850's yet but I did read this thread and looked up msrp for the crankcase/cylinder assembly and price. They are 675.00 msrp. Nicasil cylinder are fixable. There are companies out there that can re-plate them. I've had it done on dirt bikes several times and they do a really good job(got a cr125 having it done as we speak). It is also cheaper than buying a new cylinder in all the instances i have sent them cylinders. Not sure what a twin would cost, never had one done.
Nicasil is very hard and can be bored but right underneath it is aluminum and of course that won't work. There is no sleeve under the nicasil. This company bores them and replates them to the correct clearance for the pistons you send them. Of course cast iron is borable and then just use an oversize piston.

By the way-this isn't an advertisement for me. I'm not affiliated with these companies at all, just a little info for everyone else.
