I think there's some info about them on here, but not much. Don't know of any others that have them on an 850. I got the Polaris tracks since they are geared for the Polaris system. They're made for Polaris to their specs by Saucy. Nice setup for sure. If you want to start a new thread, I'll add what I can to it.

Won't be long you'll have it broken in! lol..then you can have some real fun...
I tend to ride mine pretty hard so I don't have to do any special rides to see if I have a problem..just about every ride is a test..lol. I think I am the only one who mentioned riding it in high in thick sand to see if it would slip,is that what you are refferring to? I wasn't trying to create a problem, just the oppsite I was trying to prove a point. Running along in high, even in deep sand at 10 mph or so is not going to fry the belt on an XP at the rate of the few reported premature failures.

All machines will have issues, some will be more common than others. I agree we should not dwell or get stressed about reported issues, but a large majority of the posts on these forums are people having problems and seeking advice,or sharing experiences on fixes ect on problems with every machine under the Sun. That is a good thing IMO.
If a few guys reporting that they broke a belt makes people learn how to change a belt and carry a spare when they are going to be riding deep,or a few guys reporting breaking ball joints makes some people take a closer look at the ball joints on a pre-ride inspection..those are good things IMO..things they probably should be doing anyway.
Granted the internet forums can not be completely relied on for accurate and honest info..some reports are even completly fabricated! Imagine that? That should be a given IMO...always take everything with a grain of salt...but at the same time to completely ignore or discount a few guys stating they had the same problem is not wise either IMO. Does it always mean there is a widespread issue with the machine,of course not. But at the same time if 3 guys report it who is to say your machine is not #4? Alot of items on an ATV are fine to ride on until they competely fail, belts(unless you are prepared for it) are not good to have fail on the trail, and ball joints completly failing can be extremely dangerous. So again by people sharing info maybe those guys that would not notice the belt slipping or vibrating until it broke in the middle of nowhere will now notice and save themselves from some trouble in the woods. Or that 3rd guy who was going to break a ball joint may catch the play in it before it fails completely(which BTW has already happened at least once since that "issue" was reported.
Again I say don't dwell or stress over the reports..but at the same time complete ignorance of possible trends isn't the answer either IMO..
If we lived by your motto there would next to no posts in these forums...if you truly believe what you posted I guess we won't ever see you post a question about a problem or a percieved problem will we?
I know your are proud of you brand new 850..I love mine too..but nothing is perfect and while I will defend it, I think I try to only do so with some form of evidence and technical info to back up what I am saying...if I can't then I just have to say..hmm..I better look a little closer at that on my 850.

I though the woods were now called the "bush". I like bush...

Very true though HO. This is what a forum is for. I'll defend the XP when necessary, but also will bring problems to others attention without hesitation. If it's doing me wrong, I'll speak up. That said, I've luckily had nothing but a great experience so far and hope that keeps up. You are always going to have those that complain without reason as well as actual important problems. I think this is especially true when it's a machine that's designed to generally be beaten. Polaris markets it that way and people ride them hard.

LOL...that is location specific I believe. But it's kind of hard to enjoy the bush without wood

I hear you HO it made me a little more aware of whats going on with my machine. But i still love my ride. I won't be trading it until some thing better comes along. I'm a power freak and for some reason i'm always trying something new. But you have to remember every machine has its issues. Just like like when I first bought my 87 lt500r new, who would of knowen that the head gaskets would blow easy. Still have it. It only took about a year before they had a fix. Its just nice to know i'm not the only one that has problems. And i hope to continue to learn more. Thats what were on here for right?

I agree with everything u say HO, I roamed these forums for months before i joined becuz i wanted to know who i could trust when an issue accured and its U i trust on this forum, i do believe people have nothing better to do but to cause problems on the internet and these forums, so when a problem accur's, it seems like everybody had that problem that day, maybe its just me, but i dont trust anybody. I just picked up my 850 last week so if u guys want some picks to see if their is a difference from your earlier models, i be happy to snap some this week. HO i know u mentioned something about pulling the rubber gromet out of the top of the airbox, can i do this without any ill effects, i put the zilla's on 26x11x14 and their is over an inch of space between tire and swaybar. O another thing, no way can i ride around in low range, just seems to wind to much, huge difference from high to low. Again nothing in my post was towards you, i take your input seriously on this site. anything i can do to my wheeler that u guys have done.airbox,plugs,tidbits. Brian

RED800...I would like to take you up on the pics offer. Might want to start a new thread, but YES...please do take some pics. It would be really interesting to compare to the earlier models.

Also...you might want to include your build date...just so we know it is a newer model...and not one that has been left over since last November or something.

Thanks for the offer...and see you on the boards!

[QUOTE=RED800;2784674]took my 850 out yesterday and put on the first 70 miles(and have 2 bars left on gas gauge)
[QUOTE]

The very best mileage that I've gotten with this machine was 65 miles per tank (ATV was still breaking in at that point)

I'm curious to see how fast and what type of riding you were doing. Of course I haven't rode it for about two months, because the local trails are closed, but next month I plan on riding this machine a lot to see what kind of mileage I get. I have just under 150 miles on the clock so it should be broken in by now.
