I could have sworn that the service manual stated a small amont of fluid would drian out if the recoil start cover was removed. Sorry about that. Guess I need to go check again. Thats why I havent addressed mine yet.
welll i read thur the 500 manual and it does mention about loosing soe oil, which if the amount that came out of mine was at least 5 oz +- so i guess thier must be oil in the recoil housing. learn something new i guess although it seems like the stator would be getting oil as well. maybe OTP can help give the correct response.
