My 350L keeps blowing the diode on the charging system. I have isolated the system, but can't find out why it's blowing the diode. It may be grounding out, but I cannot find out where. Any ideas?

 

Check the yellow and yellow/red wire coming from the stator for shorts to ground. If continually blows reg/rectifier,would suspect charge coil in stator the problem if all grounds good elsewhere. Dont have the resistance specs handy,would have to dig through a bunch of manuals to find specs for a 15-16 year old machine,BUT if no posters have any thing handy for you,pm me and I'll start digging and see what I come up with.
