03 Polaris Scrambler Backfiring when starting
Road my Polaris scrambler 500 a few weeks ago and everything was fine. Pulled out recently and tried to start it (electric start) and it turned over but did not sound right. Pulled off the recoil starter and noticed the flywheel nut was loose. Used some locktite and impact gun and tighten the nut. Tried the electric start three times and it backfired three times. Not sure if the crankshaft key is maybe sheered or what the deal is? Any thoughts?
I did have the flywheel off to fix a stator wire last year but I used an impact gun and locktite on the nut, so not sure how it would come loose?
Thanks in advance for any help.
