To check drain gas tank.PUt in a gal. or so of premix, unhook injector hose from carb and run the engine and watch for oil comeing out the hose.
If you see smoke or smell 2stroke oil burning with the pump now it is a good indication your pump is working..
To set the pump just line up the marks on te arm and housing where the arm moves as soon as the cable starts to move.

Well, I got it running. How much oil should I see coming out of the injection line when its Idling and off throttle? I got a block off plate but I dont want to use it if I dont have to. Thanks for all the replys.

I did. Another question, the jet in this one is only a 190, isnt that a little lean? My other bikes have a 240 and 220 jets?

I believe 220 main is stock on those 2 stroke Scrammy's. If you're gonna run a 190, might want to run a bit of oil in the Gas. Stock pipe should be fine with a 190, gotta remember that if that was a stock piston, 10 years is really good. I had 3 of those Scrammy's and all of 10K miles on the machines, ran Amsoil, and changed fluids religiously, those Scrammy's were a perfect fit for my family with boys growing up, sold them 2 years ago, as my boys went to 2 stroke dirtbikes, bought my 1st 4 stroke-800 X2, then a 6x6 Ranger. Sure wish I would have kept them Scrammy's, at the time they were the best machines out on the market, could reach 60MPH on the dream-o-meter, and still have 4 wheel drive to play around in the mud, get stuck, jump off, hit the Gas, and go again

my shop manual says 1999 and 2000 scrambler 400 2& 4wd 230 main 35 pilot
air screw 1.5 turns at 0-3000 ft between +40 to + 80 degrees f with 87 octane non-oxygenated fuel or 89 octane oxygenated fuel lol that's what mine says

Ok, but that is Poo, always running them rich, on the safe side. Rebuilt motor, always start rich, then after break in start leaning it down, and make sure you run a "non synthetic oil" to seat the rings in. Clutch the bike and throw a aftermarket can on it
