Your worst ATV day ever?
#31
Thank OB31 I will be in touch on that, ya never know. Realistically it won't be till next year. Hatfield and McCoy is 7 plus hours away and I got family commitments this year, hunting plans, low leave etc. My ATV riding excursions will be local mostly one day trips!

My boyfriend and I went riding in the middle of the night, out in the middle of no where in the woods. It was pitch black, we couldn't see anything behind us or off to our right or left. We stopped on a hill and were talking. Suddenly, we heard some rocks rustle off to our right. Looked over, but all I could see was blackness. He said, "Do you wanna stick around and find out what that was?". I said, "Nope." So we high-tailed it outta there (****ting little green nickels all the way...) It still gives me the heebie jeebies.

I own two 2006 hawkeyes with failing subframes. We were on a ride when I noticed here camber was way off going down a steep hill, I really thought she was going to loose control, scarry moment. My wifes is so bad it needs a whole new subframe. Polaris will replace part after pursueing the safety avenue. Its seems from this forum it is a big problem for polaris. They originally said we ride to much and to hard, my wifes machine thats laughable. I am think of contacting the CSPC.gov. Polaris says if i do they will decline the parts offer, i want labor included, it is there defect. How about potential axle damage! Everyone should contact cspc, i do not think the frame of an ATV should fall apart and not be a safety issue! I am a new user today! Feedback please?

rcserra,
I would recommend posting this up as a NEW thread! Lots of folks on here have been thru the wringer with their Hawkeye issues. So we have the first hand experienced folks who may be able to offer up good advice and direction. -- IMO

they say accidents happen close to home. well thats correct.....mine was on wednesday before labor day weekend 2007.....had big plans, big ride planned. well i decided i was gonna remove a small tree top that the wind had blew of a tree out in the back fourty. got home from work put my shorts and flip flops on grabbed the saw and a strap and off i went to drag this treetop to the shed. i cuts it loose from the rest of the tree and hook it up to the popo (no this is not the first tree i drug. many were bigger than this one) well i fired her up put it in low and took off . the next thing i knew i was looking at the blue sky and as it rolled over on me i thought this is gonna hurt. thank god the tree was smooth without limbs. me and the bike landed on the tree and i pushed it off to the side. the tree had a limb stuck in the ground and it would not move. i got some good deep cuts and a burger sized lump on my back. i got cuts on my face i assume from the bars and my side hurt like hell.. ended up with 2 cracked ribs and a miserable non riding weekend. the bike never got a scratch. and no one was home when all this happened. i am lucky

i went riding with some buddies and we were riding around a lake and i shut my wheeler off and poof it wouldnt start back up :S but then the pull cord started it right back up. figured a fuse popped but the atv was so muddy it was pointless to look and then about an hour or so later my girlfriends atv started to back fire when i would try and accelerate so we drove it back to the shed and let it. about an hour later we came back and it wouldnt start at all.......... still havnt gotten it running......im figuring its the stator bc im getting power when i turn the key......but no spark??? replaced the plug and nothing ugh...........
