well I got my first 4 wheeler two weeks. ago a 08 sportsman 700 x2 like it fine so far only 76 miles. on the clock what should I expect from this thing . any feed back. Great site

Welcome! You can expect a lot of good times on your ride. Keep it clean/maintained and it will last forever. When replacing parts like wheel bearings, balljoints, etc. get them off ebay-way cheaper than dealer prices. Keep this forum bookmarked as there are a lot of knowledgable folks on here that are a great troubleshooting resource!!!!

 

With the extra long wheelbase you can expect to go up and down steeper hills than a regular quad.

 

what kind of fule mileage should I get the dealer said 10 have that in snow thats sounds a perty to me low .

I bought a 08 700 x2 in january with a set of Pro S tracks. If you are running tracks, your dealer is close on the mileage (I get about 9 miles/gal in the snow). As far as mileage with tires, I haven't taken the time to figure it out as I've been having to much fun just running around with mine.

Something to keep in mind though; my 700 x2 fuel guage reads basicly in thirds. full to half on guage = 2 gals; half to "fuel low" flashing = 2 gals; and "fuel low" to cough,spit, sputter = 2 gals.

I don't know if this holds true with all 700's but I would suggest checking yours when you get the chance.

 

I've had my 08 700X2 for just over a year. It has been a great machine so far. I have done a few minor mods: tires/wheels, winch, bumpers, rack extender, painted it, etc.

Be careful if it's your first quad, because it can give you a false sense of security. IT WILL ROLL OVER ON YOU! (Don't ask how I know that to be a fcat )

Even though it is big and heavy it is still a blast even in the sand. It is a good workhorse too. It is great for dragging picnic tables around the campground. I've also pulled more than one Side X Side out of a mess.

Overall it gets two thumbs up.
