Bad Starter??
#1
Recently my starter went out on me while I was riding. Anyways I took it apart and the brushes seemed fine. Also there was no evidence of water getting into it, so that was a good thing. Not sure now what the problem is. Is there bearings in there that can go bad? When it's all together I can't turn it at all, it seems like it's jammed or something. Just trying to do everything I can before spending like $300 on a new one.

Momentarily jump it off a car/ truck battery. It should throw the pinion out(the gear), and spin freely. If it don't it's dead.
And yes, they have bearings, you have two sets; front and rear. They are called needle bearings for their tiny size. When they go bad, the starter will seize up as you describe.
