Has anybody built a mount that allows the winch to be mounted on the front or the rear of the quad? Was it successful? Any pics?

Polaris has the Multi-mount that alows you to mount the winch on either the front or back and also has some accessories for those mounts. Look in the new accessory book it has some good pics.

Thanks Bill, that is what I am looking for, but rather than buying one I would prefer to build one. Looking at the pic in the accessories catalogue I am sure I can manufacture the metal parts but the electrical connector is one component I will have to buy. Does anybody know where I can get a hold of a connector like that?

I bet you can order it direct from Warn industries.

It is really quite involved....

I'd start with a 2500# Warn kit, If you want to make the brackets yourself, go for it, but they are VERY nicely made.

Cabelas offers a mounting system for the front and back of some different quads. It uses a reciever style hitch to do so, and it looks like it would be easy to use.

Check out the following address. It is Northern Tool, and they sell connectors for Superwinch. The connectors sell for $19.99 and accept wire sizes between 6AWG and 16AWG. The warn 2500 uses 6AWG leads, while the 2000 uses 8AWG.

Good Luck,

Don

My winch mount is home made. I can put it on the front or the rear. I cut a square hole in the front of my machne and welded a reciever to the frame.I also welded a reciever to the rear. It works great to be able to winch from the front and the rear.

01 sp ho stock for now
