Default cv joint heat marks?

Hi,

I have a 2004.5 sp 500 with 310 hrs and 1800 miles. I did a rear outer cv joint boot replacement over the weekend and I noticed some heat markings where the steel ***** run inside the cv...Did they come made this way from machining it? If not is this normal heat marks?

Yep, this normal from the factory! Brand new ones I've ordered are the same way.
