before i modified my 400 i drag raced my b/f's piped 300ex and i beat him as bad as i did when he was stock. i even beat him with my sister's stock trailblazer. all we did to it is adjust the carb to make it rev a little higher. i got him out of the hole and stayed in front the whole time.

There's no way a 300ex should beat you in a drag. I dragged against a guy on a Warrior that had been bored to a 500, modified oil cooler, Bandits all around and all kinds of other mods he was rattling off before I asked him if he wanted to run 'em. He said he had put over 2k in this thing. I thought I probably could take him a little off the line but would loose out on top. I ended up blowing him out off the line and taking him by at least 2 or three lengths at the end of about a 1/4 mile run on a straight, smooth mining road. He insisted on running again, and the same thing happened, only he was almost within a length of me at the end of the run the 2nd time. And I ran him in 4x4 that time. I asked if he wanted to go again and he declined saying that his quad was getting hot and needed to sit for a bit. This was with just an RCR Midpipe and clutch kit on my Scrambler 400 4x4. I have since put the V-force Delta reeds on and can definately feel the power gain throughout the power band. Bet all ya got on it (or all he has), you're gonna take him!

Strictly speaking straight line...
He will beat the 300ex by a fair amount. Off the line and on top end.
Against a Warrior the Scrambler will also win off the line and on top end (top end isn't a huge difference, 2-3mph or so).
Against a 400ex the Scrambler will get the jump off the line, but once the EX hits about 3rd gear it pulls hard and passes the Scrammy. It pulls it all the way though mid range, but one they hit top end it gets a little closer. The EX still has the edge though.
Against a Banshee the Scrambler will pull hard off the line and you will be out in front for a little bit, but once the Banshee's steam builds up it will fly by. Be sure to race them in a very short drag race. Better yet, a very short drag race in poor traction conditions.
Hmmmm....I think those are the only races I have been involved in....I'll post more if I think of them.
I have a video on my site with a Scrambler racing a 200x 3 wheeler. Just click the link in my signature.
