Default Front Inner CV Boot Sportsman 700

I am replacing the CV boot, got the entire axle shaft out, now I am stuck. I removed the inner cup that plugs into the differential but can't get the bearing off.

Maybe I'm doing it all wrong but I couldn't see any other way to get the boot on.

Any thoughts or assistance?

I set it in the vice (loosely so the shaft could drop out) and gave it some pretty good whacks, one of the ball bearings came out but the shaft did not come free. I guess I need to hit it a little harder.

Thumbs up

Got it! Just had to hit it like I meant it and it popped right out.

if there anything like the back cv joints on back there should be a little c clip that holds the cv joint in place. you have to clean the grease away to see it as its pretty small....another place to look is on some of the after market web sites for parts as they usually have microfiche pics to see what kinds of parts shoild be in there......if I get a chance i'll see if I can find a link for ya

I got it all back together last night. I was using the FSM for guidance and the schematic of the axle assembly had a small cut away that was showing the circlip that retained the bearing assembly I just didn't pay close enough attention to the drawing.
