Default 90CC 2 Stroke, where to ground for spark

Seems I have an inability to produce a spark. Where is a good place to rest the plug to check for spark?

Have swapped the coil assembly with a serviceable one, no change. Also swapped, rectifier and CDI.

Checked all the wiring harnesses for loose, corroded connections, gave up after 3 hours... it wouldn't stark after last weeks ride.... (little bit of standing water)

Help.

Just hold it on the motor, and you should see a very visible spark, also I would die electric grease all the connections, including up in the spark plug boot

Was the stator. $200 part and $95 in labour. All is well.
