I'm looking into my next quad, after giving up my LTR to get into my house. I loved the LTR but looking for something a little different since I ride 80% trails. How are the Outlaw 525 and 450 S holding up? I think I would want the 525, but not quite sure. How do the bikes handle stock? It's hard choosing a new bike without riding them. I'm also looking into the KFX, DS450 and maybe another Z400. Some honest owner feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks.

 

I can't comment on the bikes you listed, but the Honda 450 is a good machine, my buddy has one, but I would personally get a 400ex, because of the fact they have reverse, but my favorite bike that my other buddy has is the KTM 525, is is the ultimate machine for both the track and the woods, plus it has reverse, which IMO is a major thing in the woods

Thanks for the replies guys. I haven't looked at Honda only because I prefer a Z400 over the 400ex (I have owned two Z's) and the LT-R450 over the TRX. I dealt wit no reverse on the LT-R just fine, but on my next machine I would prefer it. I was considering a Z400 again, but I thought the Outlaw might put me a step ahead in the power and suspension department. Two things I changed quickly on both my Z's.

KTM? Of course, they are my dream bikes! But have you seen the prices? The bikes I'm looking at are new '08 leftovers and ALL under $5k OTD. That's why I was hoping to hear some feedback from the 525 S owners, the "next best thing" to the KTM. Wondering how they hold up and how well they do with rebuilt/aftermarket shocks, a few bolt ons, etc. I'm a trail rider who likes to visit the track occasionally. What do you guys think?
