Default Snow Plow/system for 850XP

Hiya Folks,
I've read all the threads that popped up under a search and it appears the general consensus is that the Glacier II is a decent system for the 850XP. I'm wondering what other systems exist out there with reliability and cost being my main items of consideration. Thank you for any advice.
Cheers,
cc

I used my Glacier plow on my XP all last winter with no problems except that the cheap skid shoes that come on it wore out really fast. I have a new pair of heavy duty ones to put on for this winter!
Over all I'm happy with the Glacier plow set-up!

The Glacier 2 is the way to go as far as ease of hookup. I have a 72" G2 that I have not used yet. I researched it as you have been doing and the G2 is tough to beat as far as ease of hookup. I have a 60" moose and have bounced it off a lot of curbs and it is a tough, tough setup. The moose is not the RMP version.

I have my eye on the warn provantage coming out this fall. I called them yesterday and msrp for a 60" setup will be about 660.00. The blade is 12 gauge steel and reinforced. You can see it on their website. If you buy a glacier system for the xp you have to have the polaris winch mount and polaris will not sell you just the mount. . and I already have a winch so I will be forced to go aftermarket for my plow setup.

Interesting. I didn't realize you need to have the Polaris specific winch mount in order to use the Glacier system. Thanks for saving me the hassle of buying only to realize it won't work! So at this point, I will definitely be needing to look at aftermarket as I already have a winch (non polaris mount)

What is the difference between Glacier I and Glacier II systems?

It is the way they connect to the machine. The glacier 2 system is quicker and easier to hook up to the machine and the raised height is higher. The glacier 2 is also pinless. But in general the glacier 1 was more durable. There was alot of glacier2 plow mounts that bent on many sportsmans, including mine, and needed reinforcing. I believe they solved the problem on the new xp's but I have not tried one myself. Hope that answers your question...

Agreed, I have a Warn and I really like it, it is very durable, I heard about the Porvantage a while ago, and I think it looks like a great system
