whats the top speed of

a stock 99 sport 400?

2001 SC 500 4*4 stock?

which wold win in a race

 

I would think that the sport 400 would have a slight edge on the 500. It is lighter and is faster than it's 400 4X4 brother just because of the weight and we all know that the 400 4x4 and 5004x4 are pretty equal. I may be wrong though, never actually raced a 500.

 

I have had both the 500sp and the 400Xplorer. The 400 Xplorer is faster than the 500sp by an edge all the way thru from start to finish. My best friend has a 400 Sport and his is faster than my 400 Xplorer just by and edge. The sport is lighter and the engine faster. Im getting ready to add a new pipe, clutch kit and KN airfilter so I can keep up with him or even pass him. The 400 sport is very quick! but not 4wd. The 500 is a brute!
Its plenty fast for what it is! I returned my 500 sp and chose the Xplorer because I think I get the best of the 500 qualities and the quickness of the 400 2 stroke. In any case there is a atv for everyone and purpose.
