Default Looking at a Sportsman 500 HO this weekend

I'm currently riding a Warrior 350 and want to upgrade to a utility quad w/4x4 and more power. I'm looking at Grizzly's and Sportsmans but, have no experience with Polaris. I found a 2005 Sportsman 500 HO special edition with only 60 hours, black with the upgraded aluminum wheels, winch and power steering. He's asking $4500 but, already went to $4k in our email discussion.

Anything specific I should look for on it?

If it's in decent shape and looks like it's truly been ridden on ly 60 hours, is $4k a decent price? I'm Pennsylvania and I'm seeing similar Sportsmans go for anywhere between $3500 and $4800 so it's hard to tell.

Thanks in advance.

Polaris never had power steering until this years XP550 and XP850. I have a 2001 500 H.O with almost 300 hrs and it runs great all the time for me so far. Grizzlies are nice ATVs also.

agree w/ tlc. pretty hard to beat the 500's. the only thing you need to really check is make sure the speedo and the awd drive works correctly. would be nice if he had mat. records as well. dont know where the p/s thing came from though as what he mentioned above. check nada book for there value.

Default Polaris 500

cant go wrong for that price, just make sure drives straight and doesnt wobble left to right or pull hard either way. Always make sure it dont smoke.
