Default 2003 700 Sportsman Bearings

Since I posted on the CV axles stuck thread nothing but bad news and the problems I had, for balance I offer the experience I had replacing the bearings.

I recently bought a 2003 Polaris 700, and among other things, it needed new rear bearings.
Soooo, I break out the Harbor Freight 20 ton press...

And my 3/4 drive Northern Tool socket set....

And voila'! Bearings are out in a jiff, and I clean up the carriers. Notice that the one bearing had fallen completely apart!

Now, the smoker will work to heat the carriers to 300F, no sauce or rubs, no marinating needed! Hmmmm, Apple or Cherry wood?

Now, a little Heet (methanol) and dry ice, we'll chill the bearings to -108F. Brrr!

Now, don't handle any of the parts with your bare hands, or you'll be sorry. But the bearings just fall into place, clunk!

Done! With this job, any how. I should also mention the following - the bearings are retained by a snap ring, so it's best you have an internal snap ring pliers available. External snap ring pliers were handy to pull the bushings out of the lower A-arm so that I could remove the carriers from the A-arm after removing the bolt.

Oh, and I got the bearings from a site on EBAY, $45/pair.

I need a left front for my '06 800. Are the bearings identical or specific part numbers for left and right?
