polaris drive clutch question
i have the p-85 drive clutch on my 03 trailblazer 400, i bought the quad used and noticed my clutch has a date stamped on it from 1998 ? is this common for polaris to hold onto and use 5 yr old parts or did somebody replace this clutch?
some how the spider managed to spin itself of my crank, and theres this stupid plastic spider jam nut that broke during removal (part # 500425 ), the polaris blueprints say i dont even have that jam nut in my factory clutch but i noticed it is widely used in p-85 clutches. my question is , is there any reason why some do and some dont? makes me think its not neccesary but i want to play it safe. how come mine is plastic and the sleds with the same damn motor get stronger metal jam nuts ? so do you think i should go without
, put anoter palstic one in or switch to the metal one?
