Great fun thread. For the record I have a 09 Outty Max Ltd and I'm in love with it. Seems like alot of debate on the alleged saggy front end. That was a problem on previous models. My friend has an 07 Outty and his front spings/shocks are completly different than whats on the 09's. His 07 is softly sprung indeed. Mine is very solid in comparison. In fact I would not like it to be any more firm. The bike is a missle and can handle like a sports car. It's an intoxicating drive. I have not yet rode an XP850...I would like to try one...but no-one I know has one. I will admit that it's the only Polaris Quad that I've ever took notice of ( I had a Kawi 650 prairie in the past). When I went Quad shopping in April...there was only one real choice for me. I did not want a 4x4 "sedan"...I wanted a 4x4 lamborginni...and baby I got it!!!

PS: The 800R Outty's 09-10 are a full second faster from 0-60mph than previous models 800HO's. ( Probably why Polaris chose to run against an 08 Outlander in their Promo vid )...They didn't want no part of the 800R.

Thanks for the info Guard1. So I guess they solved the "front end issue" in 09? I know someone that owned and 07 and now a 2010 and he said the same thing...front end is drastically better.
I've not really ridden the older ones....5 mph around the yard don't count lol.....I know I really couldn't fathom how any one could call the front suspension weak on the 2010...like I said in my previous post...I'd call the rear too stiff before calling the front too soft. JMO

Lol, good to see the thread has taken a comedic turn once again. Hey Roofer, looks like one of "those people" responded again lol! Last time I checked it's still a Polaris forum, and I kind of like Polaris so I'm sure a response would be expected.....

"Didn't want no part of the 800R"... lol. Didn't want no part of what Guard1? How butt ugly the Canned Ham is? How weak the beer can frame is? The turning radius of a Mack Truck? The ground clearance of a Honda Rubicon? Apparently you missed that video I posted in this thread of the XP beating the 09 800R. Lamborghini?? From the looks of the pic that HO posted, there's only 1 quad that looks like the lamborghini, and it certainly isn't the Can Am. Oops, there I go again commenting on a quad I've only driven around the dealers parking lot. Apparently you missed that memo... you're not allowed to comment or ask questions on anything in this forum unless you've ridden one for a minimum of 1000 miles, owned several hundred other quads, can ride circles around everyone else, and your dad can beat up everyone else's dad.

Question... how do you know the 800r is a full second faster than the older ones? Becasue the manufacturer said so? Lol, the same manufacturer that mysteriously bumps up their hp rating everytime a competitor reports more. I honestly find the horsepower debate with ATV's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, I find all ATV's, and yes even the MIGHTY Can-AM, to be gutless SLUGS compared to a 145 hp snowmobile. IMO comparable to a debate that "Club Car" produces a faster golf cart than "E-Z-GO", because it has 1 more hp, and its lighter. Who cares, as long as they have power to go reasonably fast, have 4X4, low range and a winch, go have a blast.

Common HO, there's a bit of a double standard here. Why go up one side of Roofer and down the other when he makes comments about a machine he hasn't ridden, and not your good pal Guard1?

LOL...I bet you're 15 yrs old and have a picture of the "Big game hunter" in the Polaris promo vids on your bedroom wall... I bet you like his tight jeans...LOL

In all fairness the only comment I had for the XP, was that I would like to ride one. I actually like the looks ( especially the metalic yellow one ). It's not as spory looking as the Can Ams with their low, pointed front end. But still nice. As for the Video of the XP beating the Can am...the same guy has one posted of the Can am winning as well. Besides they are loaded with hunting gear and dragging on dirt. Way too many variables. The rest of the world already knows that the 800R is faster and more responsive than the XP... why debate that? We all know that their is much more to a quad besides awesome arm ripping accelleration. But when it's there ( Can Am ) it makes the fun factor for people like me, go way up. For me the Can am is almost the perfect machine . For other's with other priority's , the XP is perfect.

Oh countryboy...you did the same crap on canamtalk.com forum a couple months ago, and I think thats pretty much what everone over there thought, you were a 15 year old with nothing else to do...
I think it's funny that you said...Becasue the manufacturer said so...since just about everything you say is something you read on a web site or manufacturer brochure?
Anyways I have seen the 09 Outty and the 08 Outty race on dirt, grass, blacktop, etc. The 09 is faster, the longer the race the more the 09 pulls away.

Countryboy over half of your 34 posts on this forum are argumentative...hell a third ofthem are in this thread..lol.

At least Guard1 rides the machine he is posting about..and he said his buddy has an '07 Can-Am...so not a stretch to assume they have compared their machines...duh.

Questions about a machine you havent ridden are one thing..but you know how important it is to actually ride a machine before you bad mouth it right? Or have you not learned your lesson?

With a little more ride time on one now I have indeed found there is certainly more of a lighter/nimble feel to it compared to my 08 Sportsman 800, and the PS is amazing! The Polaris has an edge on power and ride quality, but the Grizz is no slouch and is a treat to drive, I'll likley drive it just as much as the Polaris. I'll also never buy another ATV without PS, my next move will be to upgrade my 800 to an 850 with PS, or possibly another Grizz?? Yes it's that good, and has enough power to keep me satisfied.

I too have went to the dark side..lol ..and bought a can am. I got a smokin deal on a lightly used --221 miles 26 hrs, 2009 renegade 800x. I can't wait to put it to the test. I really liked the SP 800, it had a ton of power. Most of the guys I ride with have 08 or 09 Outty's. The Outty really impressed me as far as handling, power, and top end. I could "hang" with those guys on tighter trails, but anytime the trail opened up..they were gone. I will say the SP 800 was better in the mud and I felt more comfortable on steep hills with it. Time will tell. I need to get some seat time on the Rene.

How do we know that? It's a person who may or may not already be a poster, who has 2 total posts so far. Can't believe everything you read. Heck, I'm still skeptical of your opinions, as you can see.

Exactly, how do we know anything that we read on here is true? Heck you,or he or I may not even own an ATV. We don't, It is called the benefit of doubt. That doesn't mean we take it as fact. He made no claims about the XP which he has't ridden. So I guess if he posts he has an 09 and his buddy has an 07 and the 09 has a stiffer front suspension I should have replied "I don't believe you, prove it"? Give me a break.
If he would have said "hey I have ridden an XP and an 09 Outty and the XP suspension is much better...I can promise you I wouldn't have "called" him on it like you try to do with everything I have posted here. Becasue that would be his OPINION....

How can you be skeptical of my OPINIONS??? lol. Opinions are perceptions...nothing more. Definition for you..."a personal belief or judgment that is not founded on proof or certainty"....
