Default 1995 Xplorer 400 4x4

I have a 1995 Xplorer 400 4x4 and it wont idle to save its life.
When it revs down it will back fire from hell. The Plug is black in color and where the exhaust comes out it is wet and black. The quad will run out pretty good but wont idle. This is my first quad so i dont know much about them. I am mixing it 40:1 .
Please send me some helpful info.
Thanks Daniel

Rebuild the top end, new piston, rings, and bore. Good luck Doc

I tore the engine apart and this is what i found.
Tell me what you think and what may have caused it.
Where can i get discounted parts for it.
Thanks Daniel

DOnt do discount parts! Go with Wiesco piston kit , factory gaskets(400s dont work well with Cometic or cheaper gaskets) get the piston from the shop that does the boreing.
