I can take up to four 2 gal cans - I have 3 gas and 1 water, but normally just have 2 cans (4gals) unless we're on longer trips or overnight. At about 20mpg with 6 gal in the quad and six in the cans, that gives me 240 mile range. On the rare occasion I need more, I just put a regular can on my rear utility rack (extended) - hey there's a lot of wildrness out here with no gas stations.

The 2 gal cans are much easier to handle without spilling than the 4 gal, and if you puncture a can (tree branch, etc) then it limits your losses.

I'm dissappointed that the new XP Touring has a smaller gas tank (4+ gals) than my older model (6+gals).

I have the 2-2 gallons, 1-3.2 gallon, and I carry a 1.5 gallon in the rear cargo box. Should be plenty for once the snow flies, I put on the tracks, and hit the snowmobile trails!

I have had the Rotopax tanks on both my older quads. Jason makes a great product. I always ended up being the local station on the trail. LOL Problem with the xp is if you mount the tanks in front and have the storage box it blocks the light. I do not want to install it on the rear. Is there a tank made that would fit in the lock and ride front box?

The blocked light has held me up from mounting mine. I really don't want to block the light and mounted vertical in the back adds the weight in the wrong place so I haven't mounted yet.

Does the pack fit inside the front cargo box?
