Default sportsman wont move

i have a 2006 sportsman 450 with 6500 miles on it and today i was driving it and i parked it and then went back to ride some more and it wouldnt move. It started right up like usual but it wouldnt move in high gear so i put it in low gear and i was able to get it home. Reverse works fine. do you know what this could be???

when you say it wouldnt move and it did in low, what is it doing? reving up like belt slippage, like its stuck in neutral? how did it react in low, like normal or slippage, brakes dragging? really need more input on how its reacting. just wondering if it might be bad clutch buttons in the secondary but it would act like it was trying to take off in 5th gear of say a 5 speed.

it acts like the brake is on. i took the belt cover off and the clutch wont even turn when it is in high gear. you have to go about full throttle for it to inch forward.

will it move freely in low or neutral? sounds almost like a bearing is froze up or something.

My brothers did the same thing & it was the brake actuator, it locked up.... he tore it apart to find pitting on the shaft, cleaned it up and it works fine now.
