Default Xp 850 lock and ride box problem

I bought both front and rear boxes for my XP 850. The front fits good and the only problem I had was with the plastic levers they came with to lock the box down. One did flip over and lock but it was very hard, the other side was very hard also but the plastic lever broke off in my hand before it flipped over. So I had to take one of the metal ones out of the flat panel that came on the bike to put on that side.

The rear box came with metal clamps to hold it down but when I put it on it would rock back and forth and did not fit tight or sit flat at all on the factory rack. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I also put the box on another bike on the showroom floor and it fit they same as on mine anyone have any ideas? TOM

My front box came with metal levers, not plastic.
The rear box needs another one or two anchors to lock it down IMO. I have to press down on the the mounting bracket to get the box flush with the rack while putting the lever down to lock it in place. I have had it come loose while riding and that's a PITA!

If you have the box made for an XP look at rear bottom rack see if its flat or warped! Check it with a good straight edge same thing to the box. Check the lever for correct assembly rubber expander to the bottom.

On the bottom of the lock and ride there is a nut. The nut can be loosened or tightened to adjust the tension of how hard the levers are to tighten down.
