Carb boot out again!!??
#1
Hi, on all my Polaris machines I have replaced the carb boot from the engine to the carb. Now my 2005 700 twin needs another one. This would be the 3rd one. It only has maybe 1400 miles on the machine. Took the boot off and it is not cracked but the rubber is just flaking off on the inside by the engine side. Could this be due to the 87 octane with 10% ethonal in it???? Anyone else having this issue? Were can you get one real cheap?? (because I know I will need to replace it agian within 50hrs, maybe a whole box of them)
No motor mount is out either.
Thanks.

i can't imagin the fuel would be causing that. sounds like the rubber is bad form something for sure though. i know the 700's were known to have a few bad boots but 3 does seem kind of excessive for sure. imo

NO engine cleaner, the only other thing would be the Sea Foam that I put in there time to time....Just dry rotted on the inside, you can take your finger nail and scoop the rubber out!....Our gas ends up sitting out in the sun all the time...mabey that changes the properties of the fuel??? Just a far out shot.....thanks guys.
