Smile 96 sportsman starving

1996 Polaris Sportsman--The machine is starving after 2 minutes of running. I changed the in line filter, but noticed that Very little gas flows at all from a full tank with the valve "ON". Is there some filter in the tank that could be clogged? What could be clogged.(Valve itself or is this something common??)

help please.
Thank you

BB

Something plugging the valve? take the line off that comes from the valve to the fuel pump, turn the valve on , should run a steady stream, , if not take the cap off tank and see if vent is plugged, can also blow back through valve with compressed air to clear it.
