Unhappy 1996 400 polarissporstman

How do you test the coil? I went from positive to ground and got continuity??

I see the coil on ebay. If you go from the power terminal to the ground do you get continuity?

If you get less than 0.3 ohms resistance from primary to ground when coil is at room temperature then possible coil problem. Dont forget to check wire itself for cuts and ground wires also.. From my experience dont have many coil problems, if no fire condition usually stator related. Plug caps should be around 5000 ohms,can short out also,but rarely.
