Always haggle. The dealer will make money or he wont make the deal. I get the best deal I can from my dealer. He has proven himself to stand behind me with warranty issues. I get the best deal I can but I wont go elsewhere because he is a good dealer and I would rather pay a little extra and not get thrown under the bus if the going gets a little rough.

My dealer price was so low I couldn't even hagle about it, the first place I went to wanted 5500 for a 08 sp500Ho plus $200 freight! Thats with a trade! Highland HD,Buell,Polaris $4444.88 out the door. Great place good service

Don't know if I'd call it haggling. Told them I'd give them 4500 for my kfx. The price was agreed on, but the haggling was over financing. I could get that price if I financed it through them. Knew they got incentives for that, so I agreed. If they threw in an extended warranty. They did and when the first payment was due, paid off the quad.

Always haggle over price. If the dealer has a machine sitting there they will have to start paying interest (floor plan) on it after a certain period of time. They rather discount it than pay interest on it. But like anything, if they are selling fast there is no point dealing on them. Up here (NY) the dealers start to bring in the sleds in the late fall. Need to clear up space and good deals can be had once hunting season is winding down.

Good way to work out a deal is on accessories. Tell the dealer you want 20+% off or at dealer cost on your first or second order of accessories. Markup on this stuff is huge. They can discount the hell out of it. Don't expect them to install it.

If they are willing to deal if you finance through Polaris you can go that route and the refinance through your bank or credit union after the 6 month interest free period is over (or before).

Combine this thread with some other threads that talk about cost savings and poor quality parts....and wonder why we end up with what we get sometimes.

It's America...we are cheap MF's.....we want a Porsche for the price of a Escort.........

This is why I don't feel sorry for some people. PROFIT is what keeps this country moving, no matter how bad you hate to let someone else have some.
