As a previous owner of a '08 X2 500 I would have to say that Polaris hit the nail on the head with this model.
Only bad thing I could possibly say is that mine had many rattles- the plastic rattled all over the place. Only at a certain RPM though.
The 6 gal tank was a VERY nice feature! VERY disappointed to read the 2010 X2 550 ONLY has a 4Gal tank! UNBELIEVABLE!! WHY would Popo do that!
Personally I feel the 2010 550 list price is way too high. I think mine was in the mid to upper $6K range. If I remember correctly the 2010 is $9K or $10K?
I would wait for the X2 850 and maybe EPS. Now that would be worth $9-10K!
Good luck!

That would be a gallon and a half more than what you posted.

Size: Bigger is always better.

Favorite: Tie between bigger gas tank and the on demand AWD is flawless in any terrain that I've hit.
Least favorite: None found.

Also... Wife and I, on most trail angles, never felt the need to leave high gear. The 500 had plenty of power.
