Why????????

everyone talked bad about polaris around my parts back in the 90's, having had chinese quads for a lot of years I was always leary about polaris. but I wanted a quad that was an automatic and simple braking. It was for all the new people that came to camp, easier to teach them to ride a quad like this than something with gears or front and rear brakes. bought one and had never had any real problems. now I know a few people that have polaris and love them. I don't become brand loyal to anyone. I worked as a Ford mechanic for 10 years and seen my share of good and bad vehicles. I buy what I like because its so hard to "buy American" now a days. everything is outsourced in some way. I own a Harley and all my parts/accessories say made in China?????

I am a mechanic by trade and buy what works, period. I hate fixing things on my days off therefore I buy what holds up and tends to fail the least. I am one who did own a Polaris and you can see what I own now and have not been disapointed about my decision one bit!!!!!! The most important thing is that we ride and stick together. Our sport is not only about what we ride but we ride together!

I agree with MooseHendon. I drive a Tacoma (Toyota) that is made here and I traded in a dodge that was made in mexico with an engine (HEMI) that was also made there.

There is nothing wrong with Polaris or Victory for that matter. Most people bad mouth them as an excuse for buying Jap Crap. lol
Buy American!

I don't think it the brand of anything you buy really matters as long as it suits your needs. There are good and bad stories for just about any product and brand ever made. Even if you don't buy "American" the stores or dealerships are here in America and the parts or servicing that you pay to have done are all done here in America. They closed some of the foreign dealerships here in MN and all it did was displace American workers. Have fun and enjoy whatever it is (or brand) you buy.

MooseHenden has many good points. He's as loyal toward American made products as well as he can be while still trying to get the best product for his hard earned dollars. If that isn't 'American' in itself (buying the best product for your money) then perhaps American companies need to improve. It's simply ignorant to ONLY buy American this or that SOLEY based on narrow criteria. As stated, many Japanese products are actually made here BY American workers. The last time I checked Honda employs more Americans than Harley does. Not to say that Honda is better or vice-versa. I really like what ATV's Polaris has to offer, but that certainly didn't exclude me from looking at other brands not made in the U.S. Besides, even Polaris has ties to Japanese companies....look it up. Making racist comments like 'jap crap' and the like only show a rather ignorant knowledge of what parts go into ALL ATV's (a global combination).
Like Moose, I do my best to buy American products....but I am not blind and do not subscribe to the 'Buy American' diatribe put forth by greedy labor unions.
Just buy what you want....it's YOUR money.

I forgot to mention that a bunch of the Japanese quad makers have plants here in the US. I'm pretty sure that Honda and Yamaha are made here. If anyone has more knowledge on this I'd appreciate it. Competition is what makes the companies strive to put out better and better products every year. With a bad disk in my back I need a nice comfortable ride. Polaris was by far the best I've ever sat on with the Yamaha Grizzly 550 and 700 a close second. Another criteria for me was to get a 2-up machine. My wife didn't want to drive so I needed a spare seat every so often. The X2 is next to perfect for us. Nice dump box for all the chores I do and a spare seat for those few occasions she wants to go out on a ride with us. I even went to a dealer about 15 miles away when I have a Yamaha dealer right down the street from me.

Well if you lived though a time when most of that **** wasn't invented yet and infesting our shores. When the warnings of what it would do to the US Economy in future years was yelled by elders in the big house long gone. You may of felt different today.
PS: Careful who you insinuate that might be racist or ignorant. Just some advice and my own opinion.

I'll not support american workers.. Cuz they're lazy, unproductive and think they should make way to much money.. so yeah american workers suck. thats why american made stuff is made by mexican workers. and all the parts for things made in america are made in china. all americans do anymore is assemble things for the grand ol "Made in america" POS stamp.. america needs a major correction and restructuring. unions have focked up everything. as one class makes more it puts another class farther in poverty. it aint about socialism or nothin. and im all for a man makin a wage.. but come on.. if every monkey around town thinks he needs to make 50 bucks an hour or whatever.. then everyting is just gonna cost more.. Good ol greed gets ya no where.. anyway.. who gives a ****.. ride what ya want. buy what you want.
